Transforming Occasional Activity to Daily Habit: Bike-sharing Best Practices

Bike-sharing programs are gaining popularity internationally and play a strategic role in an integrated green mobility system in the urban landscape. This report examined successful programs in different cities with a closer look to Paris, Copenhagen and New York. According to the report, bike-sharing is a proven solution to short distance travels, encouraging more public transport use, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and engaging citizens to adopt sustainable lifestyle. It also highlighted key indicators and challenges for city planners to take into consideration when launching their programs.
