Augustenborg Eco-city: Fighting Climate Change in the Urban Context

Augustenborg, a neighborhood of Malmo, Sweden was revitalized in 1998 thanks to a government-funded program and is now a leading example of an eco-city. The district is also an inspiration for urban planners and sustainable practitioners in solving a puzzle of climate change mitigation (reduction of greenhouse gas emissions) and adaptation (responses to adverse environmental impacts). The article provided insights into an inclusive approach to avoid potential conflicts between short term responses and long term impacts on the journey of building resilient communities.
